People think that because Persian rugs are valuable they must be pampered like fine China. But Persian rugs have earned their reputation of being magical in part because of their sheer endurance. When they are dirty, they can be washed (unlike wall-to-wall carpeting, which can be surface cleaned only).
If you're tired of trying out cleaning tips, we're here so you can take a vacation from all that dirt and grime!
Cleaning Your Carpet with the Right Products
There are many ways of removing dirt and stains from your carpet, but the key is to find a method that works best for you. For many homeowners, cleaning carpets can be a tedious task. But by following some simple steps, carpet cleaning can be made easier and faster. One important thing to remember is proper maintenance makes cleaning your carpet easier.
Proper maintenance simply refers to vacuuming your carpet at least once a week. This will prevent any type of buildup of dirt and stains which would most likely become harder to take off once they stay there for some time. If you clean your carpet regularly then you do not have to rely on intensive and intrusive cleaning methods, which may eventually damage the condition of your carpet.
Should You Use Plain Soap and Water in Cleaning Carpets?
The answer is no. Plain soap and water are not enough to deeply clean the carpet. Using these ingredients in cleaning is a waste of time as they are unable to remove stains, muck, and odour that have been building up for a long time.
The two main products that are effective for carpet cleaning are carpet powder and carpet shampoo. Each type of product offers advantages and disadvantages. If you do not have a lot of time, carpet powder is a quicker fix when it comes to removing dirt and stain. This is because carpet shampoo requires several hours to dry. If you’re using a powder cleaning product, you usually only need to spread the powder and let it sit on the carpet surface for at least half an hour. The cleaning agent then goes to work during this period and all you need to do is wait. After you allow the product to absorb the odour and soften the stains, you just have to vacuum up the powder along with the dirt.
Carpet Shampoo products are a bit more complicated to use, but it’s not that hard once you get used to it. Most products instruct you to dilute the shampoo with a prescribed amount of water. You need to be careful not to make the carpet too wet as it will only increase the waiting time for it to dry. After applying the shampoo on the surface, you typically need to scrub the stubborn stains with a hard-bristled brush. After it dries, you can then vacuum the carpet as a finishing touch.
Whichever cleaning product you decide to use, the most important thing is that you always read the label and follow instructions carefully. One mistake can cause more problems.
Here's what they say about Tropical Carpet and Tile Cleaning
"I had them come over to my house to get a deep clean before family came into town for the holidays and it looks amazing. They really do a great job. They clean in all the little cracks and seals that most over look. Very friendly and easy to schedule an appointment. I never thought a house could get this clean and the windows were almost too clean because I nearly walked through the sliding door a couple times. If you have animals I would recommend you have them clean because they seriously deep clean the house and you would probably would not know that you have animals.
Julio and Maria were great and worked with my schedule with getting an estimate and scheduling it right away. I will be calling them from now on for all my house cleaning needs."
Our family just bought 10 year old home in Sparks and we called Topical Carpet and Tile Cleaning to clean the carpets and the house prior to us moving in. We had some concerns about the carpet since it was 10 years old and had an odd crunching sound when it was walked on. My wife and I greatly appreciated Julio's honesty when he evaluated our carpets. He told us that they were old, not high quality, the crunch wouldn't go away completely with cleaning, and would probably only last another year or two anyways. He very easily could have just quoted us the carpet cleaning and we never would have known better. Based on his evaluation, we decided to replace the carpets, but we'll absolutely use them for cleaning in the future.
For the house cleaning, Maria quoted a very reasonable price to clean just about everything in the house prior to us moving in. Her crew cleaned all of the cabinets, drawers, drawer rails, knobs, sinks, toilets, showers, floors, inside windows, window tracks, blinds, light fixtures, and I'm sure other things I can't think of right now. They did an excellent job and we couldn't be happier with the results.

The Health of It
It’s easy to collect things in our homes. Unfortunately, it’s the collections that can attract pests. Moths and mice love to go through wads of clothes stuffed away in our closets. The dirtier the better for those pests. That’s why Mom was right when she told us to keep our rooms clean and why hiding everything in the closet or under our bed would not pass muster.
The Ease of It
Really every season is a good one to go through those collections and decide what to do with the piles of clothes and junk building in our homes. A minimalist approach is to take those things you didn’t wear in the last season and send them off to the local donation center. Break it up one closet at a time, one season at a time. So in winter, go through your personal closet and pull off the hangers those things you never really wore last year or last summer and fall. In the spring, attack another closet with the same idea. Be sure to have a large bag handy to send it off to a donation center or put out for a garage sale.
Clothes that your children have grown out of should be hauled off as soon as you notice they have moved on to the next size. If you keep the collection, you may find a host of other organisms multiplying under the pile. Next to your dryer, you can keep a paper bag designated for donations. When the clothes go through the laundry room, snag those ones your kids don’t need anymore and deliver the bag as soon as it’s full to the local Good Will or Salvation Army! Don’t worry about your kids needing some clothes. They will let you know when they notice their drawers aren’t so full.
After a construction project in your home.
After a high-traffic season in your home (such as holidays or grandkids coming to visit).
Between long-term renters.
When pet dander is a problem.
One of the greatest motivators for cleaning a house is when guests are coming over. It seems it is so common that our kids will say, “Who’s coming over?” when we tell them to go clean their rooms.
There are different levels of clean. Sometimes we don’t get too far in a cleaning project because we get held up on one of the chores. Here’s our cleanup list that can help you focus to the end:
1. Take out your garbage, picking up any visible signs of garbage from the floor or counters on your way out.
2. Clean the bathroom—wipe down sink, bathtub, then toilet. Then wash up the mirrors and mop the floor on your way out.
3. Mop other floors, like the kitchen. Vacuum if you have time.
4. Pick up those papers like mail and bills in the kitchen or living rooms. If you are in a hurry, just organize and tidy them up—you might find something to throw away. If you’re not in a hurry, go ahead and respond to them and file if needed.
5. Wash the mirrors or windows around the house.

There is no better feeling in the world than relaxing on the beach drinking a cocktail or some other drink. You are not worrying, you are just relaxing, taking long walks talking and spending time with people you love.
Before you go on vacations, you are probably packing your things furiously and you make your house look like a complete mess. And then the problem begins because you don't want to leave your house in a complete mess. You want your house to look beautiful and clean when you come home.
So if you want to come home to a clean house so you will start your life after vacations fresh and relaxed, then Tropical Carpet and Tile Cleaning Company is perfect for you.
I can tell you from my experiences that it is just amazing how perfect people from Tropical Carpet and Tile Cleaning Company can clean your house. As you're cleaning your home in preparation for holiday parties, overnight guests, and the midnight appearance of Mr. Santa Claus, himself, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed. As one mess is cleaned up, another appears, and then on top of that, it's time to wrap some gifts for the office gift exchange! Another mess!
How to keep your sanity (and keep your house clean) during the holidays:
The 3S Plan: Stations, Scheduling, Supplies!
You've done this before, you have a pretty good idea of what the holidays entails. Last-minute gifting, out of town visitors, extravagant appetizers, somebody's gonna get sick, and excessive pine needles.
Prepare Stations around your home that will assist in these various projects and messes. It is easier for kids and guests (and YOU) to clean up if everything is ready.
Many times when we think about cleaning our homes, we get so overwhelmed because we think it will take hours. Just 20 minutes a day will at least get all the clutter picked up off the floors and counters! Try working 20 minutes a day of cleaning into the schedule. If you use an Advent Calendar or read Christmas stories before bed with the kids, include them on the 20 minutes of cleaning and then reward them with the holiday tradition. Set a timer and turn up the Christmas tunes!
Make it easy to clean up by making supplies readily available. Put extra trash bins throughout the house (next to the tree), along with mini brooms and wash cloths. Pick out a cinnamon-scented cleaning solution to give your home a holiday feel!
We are available to play Santa Claus this season and spread your home with holiday cheer and cleanliness! Please contact Tropical Carpet & Tile Cleaning to schedule pre and post-holiday clean-up!
